Come Sailing This Summer
TONE sponsored three on-the-water events this summer. We had regional gatherings arranged so that members from New York and Southern New England had an easy sail to at least one of the events. The focus was on casual meet-ups with a nice dinner one night during each event and a chance for members to informally meet and greet.
The three events are:
June 27 & 28 at Mitchell Park and Marina in Greenport, NY
This one is done: We had four TONE boats and all who attended had great weather and a great time.
Clockwise from top left, Mike Musen, John Garner, Mary Rose La Rocca, and Christina Garner chat over veggie dip. Members had an al fresco dinner at the Stirling Harbor Marina hosted by Renee and Tony La Rocca.
Host Tony La Rocca cuts the spiced chicken that the group is about to feast on as we looked out over Greenport Harbor.
July 13 & 14 at East Greenwich Prime Marina in East Greenwich, RI
Two for three. Tartan yachts Christina, Elan, Fair Winds, Luora, Recess, Spirit, and Star Watch joined up at Prime Marina East in East Greenwich RI for a great two days. The "main event" was dinner at Finn's Harborside restaurant with a wonderful cocktail hour beforehand hosted by John Garner aboard his T-4400 Christina.
Aboard Christina for drinks and snacks before dinner. From left: Cindy Van Voorhis (Recess), Fernanda Musen (Elan), Carol Larson (Fair Winds), and Tricia Johnson (Spirit). Christina is a Tartan 4400 and her large and elegant cockpit was a great venue from which to start the evening.
At Finn's Harborside the crew gets ready to feast. Starting at the photo left: Buddy Wainwright (Star Watch), John Garner (Christina), Tricia Johnson (Spirit), Jeff Lennox & Linda Lennox (Luora), Larry Jones & Carol Larson (Fair Winds), Cindy Van Voorhis (Recess), Renee Wainwright (Star Watch) and Robert Johnson (Spirit).
July 19 & 20 in Edgartown Harbor, Martha's Vineyard, MA
News and photos to follow soon for this event.
